DISTRIBUTION OF HALAL FOOD & ESSENTIAL ITEMS

Astoria Welfare Society USA inc. is a non-profit organization that aims to empower the low income families of Westerns Queens by alleviating food insecurity.

Astoria Welfare Society and its Halal Food and Basic Items Bank were established in 2020. Non-perishable food items and halal meat have always been made available to individuals and families via the food bank. According on availability,

Basic home supplies, clothing, footwear, and winter gear are also given out. Since there has always been a particular emphasis on children, we give them backpacks at the beginning of the school year and gifts around the holiday season.

The most typical requests from our clients include the following.

  • Rice/Flour.
  • Halal meats
  • Neonatal formula
  • Oil.
  • milk powder
  • vegetables and fruits in cans.
  • Sugar.
  • Diapers, and more necessary foods

The following groups are eligible to use our food facility:

  • Beneficiaries of
  • Social welfare
  • Assistance.
  • Beneficiaries of
  • Employment
  • Insurance
  • New Immigration
  • New Immigration
  • Someone in genuine need.

Please be aware that clients are only allowed to use the food bank once per month; however, staff can negotiate extenuating circumstances.

Please be aware that you must provide a valid ID to register and each time you visit.

  • Identity documents are among the acceptable kinds of identification.

  • Proof of Income or Ren
